Gervonta "Tank" Davis to defend WBA lightweight title against unbeaten Frank Martin

Unbeaten lightweights to clash in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 19

LAS VEGAS -- Gervonta "Tank" Davis will defend his WBA lightweight title against unbeaten Frank Martin on Saturday, August 19 at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

Davis (27-0, 25 KOs), a 28-year-old southpaw from Baltimore, is one of the most feared fighters in boxing. He has won world titles in three different weight classes and is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

Martin (18-0, 12 KOs), a 28-year-old southpaw from Las Vegas, is a rising star in the lightweight division. He has won his last four fights by knockout and is looking to make a statement against Davis.

The fight is expected to be a close and competitive affair. Davis is the more experienced fighter and has the power advantage, but Martin is younger and has the speed advantage. Both fighters are known for their knockout power, so it is likely that the fight will not go the distance.

The fight will be televised live on Showtime PPV. The main event is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET.
