Packers Draft Defense in Second Round of NFL Draft
The Green Bay Packers addressed their defensive needs in the second round of the NFL draft, selecting elite speedster Renardo Green. Green, a smaller cornerback, will add much-needed speed to the Packers' defense, which ranked near the bottom of the league in pass coverage last season. Jeff Hafley, the Packers' defensive coordinator, is excited about the addition of Green, saying, "He's a playmaker with great instincts and ball skills. He's going to make our defense a lot better."
Green is a former five-star recruit who played at the University of Florida. He had a breakout season in 2023, recording 4 interceptions and 12 pass breakups. He is known for his quickness and agility, and he is also a sure tackler.
