Prince Harry Loses Bid to Name Murdoch in Hacking Claim

Royal Family Member Granted Permission to Amend Case

WEB Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has been denied permission to add Rupert Murdoch's name to his hacking claim. The Duke had sought to include the media mogul in his case, alleging that Murdoch's companies were involved in the phone hacking scandal that plagued the UK in the late 2000s.

However, the judge overseeing the case ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support Harry's claim against Murdoch. The Duke was granted permission to amend his case to include further defendants, but Murdoch was not among them.

The decision is a setback for Harry, who has been pursuing legal action against the media for several years. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have repeatedly accused the British press of harassing and defaming them, and have filed a number of lawsuits in recent months.

It remains to be seen whether Harry will appeal the judge's decision. The Duke has until March 2023 to submit an amended claim, and it is possible that he will include Murdoch in that submission.
